C.A.R.E. is the United States Department of States Office for Afghan Relocation tasked with relocating all "At Risk" Afghans with association with the United States, Including U.S. Citizens, SIV Applicants and those having served the United States interests during Operation Educating Freedom. In August of 2021 The United States began evacuating "at risk" Afghans from Afghanistan during Operation Allies Welcome. As stated by official State Department press releases and articles over 120 thousand "At Risk" individuals were evacuated by the United States, Coalition countries and a consortium of private organizations such as AfghanEvac Coalition who's president is pictured at left. That effort ceased on August 31, 2021 leaving many if not most Afghans who had a direct relationship the the United States behind including U.S. citizens, minor children, family members . It has been reported that one out of every fifty evacuees who where evacuated to Holloman Airforce Base during this had no relationship with the United States and had not made any application to enter.
Today there are thousands who have been left behind. All have applied for legal entry. All who have been COM "Chief of Mission" approved continue to wait as the State Department and the office of CARE is now processing and moving 200 applicants a day. It is not likely these at risk individuals who are languishing in Afghan and subject to terrorist retribution will ever find shelter as promised by the State Dept. |
